Tribal Gaming is super happy to showcase their first pre-alpha gameplay preview of Nestables! This very first look of ingame footage gives a brief overview of some of the main features that have been implemented so far. Here is a more detailed breakdown of them:

Generating Unique Cubes — 0:06 - 0:27

The first part of this gameplay video gives an overview of the customisation potential that will make each Cube unique. In this first video, we have focused on the physical uniqueness of each Cube so that we can cover traits in more detail at a later stage.

You will notice that each Cube has a base skin colour with a pattern applied on top. This randomisation of pattern and colours allows us to deliver an unlimited number of variations for the skin of each Cube.

Looking even closer, you will notice that Cubes can have different models for their eyes, ears / head decoration and tail. We have numerous different options already added into the game for these parts and can continue to rollout more into the future to continue to make each Cube as unique as possible.

Gathering Resources and Researching — 0:28 - 1:02

In the next section of the video we give our first preview of the Cubes collecting resources. This is a main gameplay feature and one that we wanted to nail early. You can see some of the very first animations that our amazing animator worked on in action for wood chopping, mining and farming. Furthermore, a very small preview of the game UI can be seen in this section showing the player how long it is taking to collect the resource the Cube has been tasked with collecting and the current resource levels the Nest has. For recording purposes, some of the resource collection has been sped up.

Also in this section, we preview another important aspect of the gameplay — researching. Researching will allow the Cube to improve their abilities in an area of your choice. For example, if you task the Cube with researching ‘Wood Chopping’, then the time taken for that Cube to collect wood in the future will be decreased. We look forward to diving into more detail for this area in future gameplay videos.

Relax and Rest — 1:03 – 1:43

Finally for this first gameplay video, we take a look at the relaxation and rest aspect of the game. Making sure your Cube is happy and healthy is important!

Cubes will sleep well after a hard day’s work and giving them time to rest will keep them happy and productive. In this section we also showcase the Cubes playing with a ball. This is the first toy that we have implemented into the game and we will be running a competition at a later date to suggest more so stay tuned… You can either task the Cube to play with a ball itself (as showcased) or, if they have a friend or another Cube, then you can get them to play together.

Making a splash! Cubes like to keep clean especially after a few hours of mining. Having your Cube take a bath will keep it happy and productive. Like all aspects of gameplay, users will be able to get their Cube to research ‘Bathing’ which will decrease the time taken for the Cube to have a bath and increase the time in between needing one.

We hope you have enjoyed this first pre-alpha gameplay preview and would love to hear your feedback! We are excited to keep you as a community informed of our development progress. You can stay tuned with our progress via our Telegram & Twitter.
