March Development Update
March has been a busy month for the team with plenty of work going on behind the scenes. So this will be a short development update but it doesn’t mean there wasn’t a lot accomplished!
Development Progress
Saving and Inventory System
We are now getting to the stage of development where being able to save ingame progress is important! To this extent, preliminary work has been done over the past month on implementing saving of the game world, Cube stats and the Nest Inventory. For example, we can now include pre-saved blueprints that users can build in their nest, without the hassle of making their own creation and to give them inspiration!
Continued Research Development
Now that the base system for researching has been implemented, we have been able to further expand on this system to cover some of the areas that we talked about in the February development update. As we expect people to play Nestables differently, each area of research will appeal to a different gameplay style. For example, users who can check in with their Cubes on a regular basis, might choose to focus on the rate at which wood is collected. For users who don’t check in regularly, they might leave their Cubes chopping wood for longer and therefore, would most likely focus on decreasing the rate of fatigue or boredom.
Login and Cube selection
This month, work was also started on linking your Nestables website account to the game. The intention for alpha is that users will download the game, login via their website account (which already has their Enjin Wallet linked) and will then proceed to choosing a starter Cube. This minimises the work on our side with integrating Enjin and also reduces the hassle of getting started, seeing there was really no point in forcing players to re-link their Enjin Wallet when we already have that information.
Breeding Update
Late last month we published an update on the breeding mechanics for Nestables. The post was a culmination of feedback from the community and has been one of our most read posts on Medium. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the post, you can do so here:

Enjin Platform Launch Giveaway
As many of you have noticed, we are participating in the Enjin Platform Launch Giveaway. We have listened to the feedback from the community over your desire to see us continue to engage and promote Nestables during development and this giveaway has given us a good opportunity to do just that. There has been an increase in followers on Twitter and new users in our Telegram.
The giveaway ends on the 18th of March and you can win some cool wearables for your Cube, so check it out if you haven’t already!
