Development is winding down on Nestables for the year as the team has taken a short break over Christmas to rest and recuperate! January is going to be a busy month which will see us release a bit more of a roadmap for the game going forward in 2022.
Development work on the tea making process is nearly complete! Last month we announced that there is an estimated 10 million potential tea recipes.
Teas can be made using several different processes. Aside from herbal teas, all tea will be made from the one plant. Your Nestable will harvest tea leaves and can then perform a variety of different process to create.
Drying — Allows the player to wilt / dry the leaves depending on how long they are left. Slightly dried > Mildly Dried > Fully Dried
Steaming — Allows the player to steam the leaves. Wilted > Mildly Steamed > Fully Steamed
Oxidisation — Allows the player to oxidise the tea leaves. The level of oxidisation will depend on how long the leaves are left. Slightly Oxidised > Mildly Oxidised > Fully Oxidised
Mixing — For herbal teas. Players can combine up to four ingredients to create flavoured teas of wide variety and type.
Improved Farming Processes
Significant work has been done this month to make the farming process more intuitive and less repetitive. Players now buy seeds directly from the store in the planting UI and can plant multiple plots at the one time. Actions can now be queued so you can task your Nestable with harvesting multiple farm plots at one time rather than selecting them one by one.
A tooltip has been added when creating farmplots that lets players know how many they still have left to place.
We have replaced the on-screen resources this month with a new system that will display the 3 more recently collected resources. The UI will be finalised for this in January. The aim is to give people a better idea of what activities are being performed in the Nest, especially if the AI has kicked in!
More development process has been made this month on finalising and polishing the remainder of the interior system. We have also started work on a Nestables wikipedia which will contain very useful information for all new players to the game.
Finally, on with some exciting news, Enjin has won a Parachain slot on the Polkadot network!
This means that we will be able to bring you Nestables as free-to-play and free-to-earn which is very exciting news indeed! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the crowdloan to secure this spot and congratulations to Enjin!
